Meet Mallory
“I am 13, I have a passion to help the children in Uganda, many people tell me I will fail, that I am too young. I am an ordinary girl, serving an extraordinary God. I am bold and confident and driven to be the change.”
The first time I learned of Mallory, all I could say was, “Wow.” A mix of tears and chills took over. Literally.
While interviewing Francesca Battistelli, she shared Mallory’s story. I knew immediately that I needed to know more about this young world-changer. I needed to hear her heart. And I knew your girls, our readers needed to “meet” her too.
Mallory is the founder of Project Yesu. Project Yesu provides food, medicine and education to the children of Uganda. In two years, she has raised over $20,000.
Currently, Project Yesu has 112 children in their sponsorship program and they are looking for sponsors. They are looking for you, and girls like the ones sitting at your kitchen table searching for ways to serve!
“Sometimes there is a spark, and you don’t even notice it until that spark becomes a flame and that flame becomes a fire. That is what happened in 2010 when a children’s choir from Uganda visited my church. I got to spend time with them and got to know them. I didn’t know it that day, but that moment would change my life forever. In October of 2011, I was thinking about what I wanted for Christmas. I sat in my room and thought there is nothing I needed, but there was so much the children in Uganda needed. I sent my parents an email that said all I wanted for Christmas was to help Africa, and Project Yesu was born.” (Full story featured in For Girls Like You Spring 2014)
