Seeing the Invisible Neighbor – Week 1 Devotional
Seeing the Invisible Neighbor – Week 1
Do you feel in a rush? Like you’re constantly missing out or that you need to hurry so you don’t miss anything important? This can sometimes be called FOMO (Fear of Missing Out). I know this feeling because I struggle with it too. I find myself rushing through moments and conversations that God could have possibly wanted me to be a part of. These moments could look like having intentional conversations with people I don’t know well or usually wouldn’t talk to.
The good news is, we don’t have to live this way forever! We are changed and challenged when we accept God’s love for us, it reminds us to love others well. When we understand how much God loves His people, our love for others deepens. Knowing what God’s love feels like helps us ache for all people to experience that same love.
Growing a deeper understanding of God and His love for us and others could help us see the people God places right in front of us—the shy kids, the ones who struggle, the kids who aren’t included—and recognize those moments as invitations from God.
God’s love can help us slow down and be intentional in our everyday moments. Right now, this may not sound like much fun, but doing it through the lens of Jesus, will bless you with God’s pure love and joy!
