God is in Control – Week 4

Life can be confusing at times and it can be difficult to make choices. We might think we know what is best and start to walk that way, only to discover that the Lord has something else for us.

Just as an author writes a book and determines the beginning, end, and everything in between, God does the same. The characters in the book develop personality and a life of their own, making decisions based on who they are, but ultimately, the author is over all of it.

In the same way, God has given us free will, which means we have freedom to make choices. God does not force anyone to choose Him or love Him, but He wants us to because He loves us. Ultimately, God leads us and is over everything.

As Proverbs 16:9 says, humans plan their course, but it is the Lord who leads and establishes their steps. When you are seeking the Lord, you can trust that He is guiding you and showing you the way.

It’s okay to not understand all of this because only God does fully. Some things are beyond our understanding, but we can find peace and rest knowing that God guides us, is sovereign, and above all.
