God Knows Everything We Need – Week 18 Devotional

God Knows Everything We Need – Week 18

Did you know that God knows you more than anyone on this earth? He knows every inch of our heart. Now second question: do you know God knows everything we need? So if we know God knows us and loves us, and He knows what we need, don’t we think that we should trust Him.

Sometimes we get caught up in this idea that since we want something it has to be what is best for us. We start to turn this idea into a way of not trusting that God knows what’s best and that His no’s to our prayers is actually for our benefit.

Romans 8:32 says “Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else?”

This verse is basically saying, God gave us His son, not only just gave His son, but sent him as a living sacrifice for our sins. That’s how much God loves us. And if He has already done the greatest gift of love, why wouldn’t He continue giving us and providing us with what we need. He has never failed, and He won’t ever fail.

So, when He doesn’t answer a prayer, it is hard and confusing, but it is for our best. There have already been so many no’s to my prayers, that at the time were confusing, but now looking back I see it was actually God having something better in store. God withholds no good things from us, so trusting that and knowing that when He says no to our prayers it’s because he is doing something better. We don’t always understand because sometimes we aren’t suppose to understand. We are suppose to trust.

Now as we end this devotional, think about a time you really prayed and wanted something and God said no or shut that door. How does that make you feel? Okay now whatever that feeling is, I want you to stop and pray “God I don’t fully understand this, but I trust you and I trust that you have better plans than me”. Now continue to live in that mindset as we go through this week, getting both ‘no’s’ and ‘yeses’ from God.
