God is in Control – Week 8 Devotional

God is in Control – Week 8

Have you ever walked through a corn maze? It can be confusing figuring out which way to turn. It’s the same in life. There are so many different ways we can go and decisions we can make. But when we pursue God and are trying to love Him and others, we can trust that He leads us and that we are in His care.

One of the important decisions we have is who our friends are. There are many different kinds of people to hang around. Some who are following God and some who aren’t. In Psalm 73, the psalmist and musician Asaph, sees people around him making ungodly choices. He says his foot
had almost slipped when he saw things going well for the wicked, but then he remembered the goodness of the Lord and found his hope in Him.

The Sovereign Lord was His refuge—the One he could trust. And that gave him peace. Who is your refuge? Who is your protector? Jesus longs to be your refuge.

Jesus is the One who saves and rescues. That is God’s ultimate plan and will for you. To believe in and follow Jesus, the perfect One, who died for your sins and rose again so you could be with Him forever. That is the best plan of all!
