God’s Grace is Enough – Week 20

Who here likes to do everything right and hates when they mess up? Do you feel like this sometimes happens in your walk with God? It could be little things like not reading your Bible one night, or you felt the Spirit told you to do something, but you didn’t listen and obey. It could be different for everyone. I know sometimes when I mess up or don’t do the right things, I can beat myself up and get really upset. And I get so sad that my vision of who God is gets fuzzy. Sometimes I think we forget what kind of character God has.

2 Corinthians 12:9 says: “Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”

God’s grace is enough. There is nothing we could ever do to chase God away. He will never leave us! And I love how Paul is owning his weakness in this verse. He’s like, yep, I’m weak, but God’s grace is stronger than that weakness. Jesus says that His grace is enough. Don’t you want to live a life where God’s grace is sufficient for you?

Now, I am not saying to take advantage of this grace, but I am saying to give yourself a break. You aren’t perfect. You are human and you are going to mess up, and it is okay. You are made strong in your weakness. You can be upset, but don’t beat yourself up, and don’t think God looks at you differently now because of that one mess up.

This week, I encourage you to embrace the grace of God. Do what’s right because you love Him and you are chasing after Him and not out of this strive to be perfect and win God’s love. God loves us no matter what. His love and grace is a gift that never runs out. Accept it.
