God’s Unconditional Love – Week 4 Devotional
God’s Unconditional Love – Week 4
I remember when I was younger, I used to try to do certain things or live a certain way so that I never lost the love from my family, friends, and God. It took many years to get the lie out of my head that my actions determine how much love I receive from God. I am not saying that we should just keep sinning because God will love us anyway, but I am saying that we do not need to try to be something we will never be here on this earth, perfect. If we were capable of being perfect God would have never sent His son to die on the cross for our sins. God has chosen to love us, knowing fully that we are sinful humans.
It’s crazy how God designed us to love— and to be loved. The greatest example of love is His. Romans 5:8 says, “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
And Romans 8 reminds us that NOTHING can separate us from the love of God. His unconditional, never-ending, perfect love is the blueprint for how we are meant to love here on Earth. Sometimes I just can’t believe it. After all I’ve done, all my sins and shortcomings, God chooses to love me. In fact, he’s never even stopped. Not once.
My friend, God loves you just the same. Every day, every moment, in every sin and shortcoming—God unconditionally loves you. Imagine the cutest pet you’ve ever seen or your very best friend. Feel that warmth of love in your heart? Now, multiply it by a billion: that’s God’s love for you. Now I encourage you to let the truth of God’s love encourage you to obey Him and trust Him. He loves you so He has the best interest and desires for you.
